“My name is Jade – and I’m a Bodyshopaholic!”

Hi everyone

Now I know everyone has a certain brand they like, or a company they use a lot. But looking at my spare room, I definitely think a Body Shop support group should be set up.

There is a good reason behind my stash though. Well, not the best reason – it just all smells so damn good! My favourite of the week is the Raspberry shower gel which smells exactly like the monkeys blood you get on ice cream!

I also seem to be collecting the body butters with papaya, strawberry and passionfruit among my collection. Theres just something about the lingering fruity smell that is so divine! And hours after you put it on your skin still feels soft like it has just been put on.

Definitely a brand I would recommend, anything from fruity to nutty and even home fragrances – loads of sales too which is a bonus!!

Bit of a random post tonight but after seeing the stash in the corner it had to be done!

My travel bucket list!!

Hi everyone,

I am trying to keep up with my one post a day at the moment, I was thinking about the film The Bucket List and was going to do a post about my Top 10 things on my bucket list, when I thought two things;

  1. Most of them were to do with travelling

  2. I couldnt think of other stuff to fill in the gaps!

So instead I have decided to do a Top 10 Travel Bucket List, these are the top ten places in the world that I would love to visit before I die if money was no object.

  1. Iceland – Volcanoes and Ice Bars!!

  2. Australia – I want to spend Christmas Day on the beach!

  3. New Zealand – I always said I would take my mum to see the Hakka!

  4. The USA – I’ve always wanted to do a road trip through the smaller towns.

  5. Russia – Hate the cold but love the history.

  6. Symi – Been several times but it is a second home so cant leave it out!

  7. Norway – Always wanted to do a cruise through the Fjords!

  8. Mauritius – Just a once in a lifetime holiday

  9. Canada – Canadians Rule! Dont need to say any more!

  10. And finally, a tour around Italy, love the country, the people and would never leave!

Let me know where you would love to go. What countries/areas would be on your bucket list??

Blogger Swap with the Lovely Amy!!

Hi everyone!!

Long time no speak! With a two year old running around and big changes going on, I have been neglecting my blog a bit but alas! no more!

I first heard about Blog/Vlog swaps from watching Youtubers like Piinksparkles and Sprinkle of Glitter so when Kat from http://www.talesofapaleface.com announced she was to be starting a summer Blogger Swap I jumped at the chance. After a week or so I recieved an email saying I had been paired with a girl called Amy.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, we decided on the colours and accessories we liked and set a limit of £20 each. Needless to say when the gorgeous polka dot package arrived on my doorstep on Monday I was more than a little excited to see what Amy had chosen. And this lovely lot, was what awaited me! Sorry about the ripped card Amy, Alexia got more than a little excited!

Image

I must say I loved every item in the box, two of which arent in the pictures as they have already been used, an Anatomicals Scarlet PimpleHell Mud Mask and the second was a gorgeous owl t-shirt that Amy had put into my package for my little girl – who was very pleased indeed as she loves owls.

The first thing was this Pink Tease Eye palette. I used this for the first time for my anniversary dinner last night and the colour payoff is amazing, although this does mean a little mistake shows up very quickly. I used the three colours on the far right to achieve a subtle smokey eye that went with a nude lip.

The second item was the Wet ‘n’ Wild Fresh Effects pressed powder. It doesnt have a colour/shade on it, but we both agreed that we were the lightest shade we could find in foundation and concealer. This is a lovely powder, not cakey at all and doesnt leave you feeling as though you have an inch of make up on.Image

Next came the Sally Hansen Creme Blush in Blossom. I am newbie to the world of cream blushes but when I opened this it did seem the perfect colour for me. And excuse the scruffy looking nails! I had been dying my hair and got brown dye everywhere!Image

Two garnier skincare products were next in the box. A refreshing scrub with grape extract, which after the first use, I would say this would probably not be good for those with sensitive skin as it is quite abrasive. But it leaves your skin feeling gorgeous afterwards. I also got a Garnier Light day moisturiser, which sinks in lovely and doesnt feel as though you have to wait an hour before applying your make up. Image

We had decided that as well as beauty items, we would add a few items just on a whim that we thought each other would like. I recieved this gorgeous heart bracelet. It is hard to see but there is a little diamante in each of the hearts and it sparkles like mad in low light.Image

One of my favourite things from the box was this nude Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish. I have looked everywhere for a name but cannot find one. It is the perfect nude, it doesnt make you look washed out but isnt too pinky that it becomes quickly noticable just nude and chic.

The last little package of items i found was two 4ml samples of Nars Sheer Glow foundation, which I wish she hadnt sent, as now i have to go and buy the full size! Only joking Amy, but I do honest love how it feels on the skin, giving it a dewy finish that doesnt look oily at all. To go along with these, she put in my favourite lip balm of all time – Palmers Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

All in all it was a brilliant experience to do, I met a new friend, got some new items I would never have picked for myself, and had the enjoyment of choosing products for somebody else.

If you head across to Amy’s channel at http://thegirlwithacameracalledlionel.blogspot.com/, you can see what I sent to her.

Thanks for reading, much love,

Birchbox May 2013 Unboxing

Hi everyone, For all of you out there who don’t know what a Birchbox is, it is a monthly subscription service, where you recieve 4-5 luxury samples a month for £10 plus p+p. This is a great way to find out about new products without committing yourself to a huge bottle you are just going to throw out. Each month a box like this arrives

CIMG9845

Inside you will find three pieces of card this month. The first is a small piece of card where they welcome you to birchbox and explain the theme of the month. This month, the theme is Red Carpet Ready. The other two sheets of card are related to  Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Charity. Birchbox promises to donate £5 to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer for every referal to their company. CIMG9846

The first thing that catches my eye is a gorgeous turquoise green tin. Upon clooser inspection I see that it isnt beauty related but is a tea, and classed as one of the beauty extras on the card you get above. Kusmi Tea is described as a healthy tea that rids your body of toxins, boosts energy and lowers stress levels. And full size costs £13.95. I am not a big tea drinker and am not to sure I would spend £13.95 on tea but it would make a good gift if you have a big tea drinker in your life.

CIMG9847

The next thing I see is a box, and upon opening I find it is the Murad Hydro-dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes. As eyes creams go this is a good sample size, and definitely worth the money as full size is £57.00. The card says “Science is at the heart of all Murad products and this clever blend of nutrients increases and maintains cellular hydration to the delicate eye area.

CIMG9848

Now I know the third sample in the box is going to excite a lot of people as it is an OPI polish. I was eagerly waiting for my package to arrive to see which colour I was given and what funny name had been given to it, I was disappointed to say the least as the bottle is tiny and has no name on it just a number on the bottom of the bottle.Full size costs £11.50. I must say though, the colour is gorgeous! A lovely pinky red ready for the summer – if we ever get one!!

CIMG9850

The next two items can be used together and I must say I’m very, very excited to try them out and that is the Wei Chinese Rose Foaming Cleanser and the Wei Pomegranate Buffing Beads. Described as a gentle but effective cleanser, high in vitamin C, this cleanser is said to help keep your pores clear and your oil levels in check. And as for the buffing beads, these can be added to any cleanser to create a mild exfoliant to gently slough off all of that dead skin. I will be using these two products together tonight, and full size the cleanser costs £25 and the beads cost £13, and I know I will probably end up ordering these from http://www.birchbox.com as they smell gorgeous!!

CIMG9852

And the last and final thing I pick up is the Biorganics Hair Therapy Elixer Hair Perfecting Oil.  I think I picked this up last as I’m not that into haircare at the moment. With a toddler to run round after, most of the time I just chuck my hair into a high pony tail and thats that. But this does intrigue me as it says it can be used to reduce flyaways, and it is also free from parabens and all other kinds of nasties which is always a bonus! I will still give this a try. You never know, I may have found a haircare product I want to keep. It is a good sample size for an oil and full size will cost you£12.99

CIMG9853

Overall, I am not that impressed with the sample sizes this month, but I think that is just because we got spoilt last month. However, the products themselves do look good and I look forward to using them this week and reviewing them next week for you. Please leave a comment below and I will speak to you all soon!

Well all day yesterday was spent in the kitchen making yummy body treats. Among others i made coffee and peppermint body scrub, after eight lip scrub and bubblegum lip balm. And I must say they were gorgeous, and certainly wake you up in the shower.

I also did a little bit of shopping at Superdrug, getting a few drugstore bits of make up for a night out. And I must say the Collection 2000 Bronzer is one of the best I have used and at £2.99 is definitely one of the best priced too!!
